Report Illegal Dumping
Illegal Dumping is the disposal of trash, tires,
yard waste, appliances and other waste materials, on streets and sidewalks.
Illegal dumping is a blight in our community, and is AGAINST THE LAW. It is a violation
of the Neighborhood
Preservation Ordinance.
If you see someone in the act of
dumping, contact the Alameda County Sheriffs Office immediately by
calling (510) 667-7721.
Be observant -if possible, be ready
to provide the following information to dispatch:
- What was dumped?
- Description of person(s) who are dumping
- Description of car that was used to dump
- Provide license plate number of car
IMPORTANT: FOR YOUR
PERSONAL SAFETY, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPROACH PEOPLE WHO ARE DUMPING
Overflowing Trash Containers
Overflowing trash is often due to inadequate refuse
service. It is highly recommended that property owners upgrade to larger trash
containers to prevent this problem. Owners/Managers of multi-unit
residences must provide adequate disposal for their tenants to prevent dumping.
Contact Waste Management at (510) 613-8710 for
residential service information and/or to schedule bulk waste pick-up service.
Shopping Carts
Shopping carts are ultimately the responsibility of
the business that provides them to their customers. The Hillcrest Knolls
Association is working to assist residents with trying to find ways to remove
carts, and to prevent people from bringing carts into the neighborhood.
